Assignment 6

360-degree feedback is primarily a evaluation tool that provides feedback from different parties such as other workers, supervisors, customers and even the employee himself. Metric reports may also be used in the feedback session so the employee is getting information from several different parties rather than just a direct report from a supervisor. This gives the employee a more broader view of how they are doing and what areas they can improve in but even more important, the feedback can be used as a personal tool to create building blocks on how a  employee can reach certain goals that have set for their career.

I personally prefer this method because feedback is not coming from one source but rather many different parties that give a more well rounded review.  When a review is just based on metrics from a supervisor they may not account for what a employee does in regards to assisting other employees with questions or programs/ events the employee is involved with in the company. There is more to a employee than just what the numbers provide and a 360-Feedback session can provide a much wider range of results.

When a 360- Feedback session is reviewed, there is always a concern that a bitter or jealous representative may say something unfavorable or a customer may give a negative review due to being unhappy with a outcome so i feel a supervisor needs to be sure that the feedback given is primarily specific to the growth of a employee and not allow insignificant feedback to weigh on the outcome of the overall evaluation.  360 Feedback can be vital if used appropriately and not a method for employees to complain about someone based on personal opinions.

Assignment 2

In looking at working in a team environment, there are several advantages and disadvantage that come to mind. I feel a team environment is beneficial in a educational environment if the learning setting is in person or face to face, i do not find team projects in a online environment successful because it is difficult to really follow what each time member is doing as their part of the project. Even though there are group chat rooms are made available to discuss the project and who is assigned to what task, you are still reliant on the person posting frequently and if that team member does not communicate effectively it puts the project into a difficult task.

I feel that working in a team environment in a face to face environment is beneficial because you are learning new ways to approach tasks that you may not be familiar with based on how different classmates view the assignment and your able to communicate on a face to face perspective which really helps other team members that may not understand the assignment get a better grasp on the necessary tasks. The same would go for a organization project, the face to face concept is crucial to help understand what each team member has accomplished and help guide those that may be struggling with the assigned project task.

When the project is complete and evaluations are provided regarding the team participants, it can be rough to accurately evaluate but it is crucial for proper evaluating to occur so management or teachers can be aware of who was not providing feedback or attempting to meet their tasks. It is important for training and evaluations to be aware of what team members are providing the efforts needed to be successful.
